Ohi'a, a native wood of the Big Island, has been integrated extensively into the design of this home. All columns, walkways, stairs, have come from local sources less than 50 miles away. The siding, railing, and decking material were custom made from fallen trees reclaimed from forest floor and dried in solar-powered kilns.
